ROOF REPAIR

WHEN SHOULD I GET A ROOF INSPECTION?

⟼ Signs of roof damage include worn or buckling shingles, missing shingles, and discoloration. The age of a roof can also be a good indication to get a roof inspection. Many of these signs can be seen from the ground, depending on the height and slope of your roof. However, we always recommend having a professional technician look closely because much of the damage is not visible from the ground.

  1. Interior signs of damage such as leaking, discoloration, and bubbling ceilings are also a warning that it’s time to call a professional, licensed roofer.

  2. Recent wind, hail storms, or tornados can cause significant damage to your roofing system. Post-storm - Your roof should be evaluated immediately.

  3. Our roof inspections are complimentary and will give you a better understanding of what needs to be addressed. Contact us to schedule an appointment.

EMERGENCY SERVICES

HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN IT'S TIME TO CALL FOR AN EMERGENCY REPAIR?

⟼ When you spot serious roofing problems such as leaks, gaps, or other types of damage, you do not want to wait to get them fixed. The longer you wait to take care of the underlying problem the more severe the damage will become which costs you more money in the long run. If you wait too long, you might find that a repair is no longer a viable option and a costly roof replacement is needed to properly remedy the problem. If you suspect that your roof has suffered damage or has surpassed its life expectancy, you will want to give us a call. An experienced Claims Specialist will thoroughly examine every inch of your roof to look for signs of damage or issues that could potentially cause damage in the near future. Even if you are not sure that your roof needs repair, it is best to undergo an inspection to make sure. Having a contractor inspect your roof on a routine basis can help keep your home in good condition.

STORM RESTORATION

WILL SNOWSTORMS, ICE, AND SUBZERO TEMPERATURES AFFECT MY ROOF?

⟼ Yes. Winter itself will accelerate the gradual erosion of your home’s shingles. These conditions also cause other problems that can test the integrity of your roof's shingles.

Things to consider: Ice damming occurs when snow on the roof melts because attic temperatures are above 32 degrees. As this melted snow drips down over the roof, it naturally refreezes if the outside temperature is below freezing. Repetition of this melt-freeze cycle creates an “ice-dam” that forces water to pool and develop into large “ponds.” During warmer temperatures, this excessive puddling will leak into walls or attic and possibly damage areas that are already compromised.

Blizzards, Illinois thunderstorms, are famous for producing damaging hail that can erode shingles and diminish your roof’s ability to shed water. Tree branches and flying debris propelled by strong winds may rub and scrape against shingles forcefully enough to loosen them.

Roofing professionals of Illinois are well aware of what to look for in regards to weather-related damage during an inspection of your roof. Maintaining your roof so it’s in the best shape possible all year long will help you avoid expensive roof repairs as well as costly interior water damage.
